He was predeceased by: his father Cashin Wheeler, Sr.; and his brothers, Cashin "Tim" Wheeler, Jr. and Clarkton "Cadillac" Wheeler. He is survived by: his mother Minnie Nelson Wheeler; his children, Kristin Wheeler, Tiffany Fain, Lindsay Marshall, Fortune Wheeler, De'Vonte Hampton and Lendez Hampton; his grandchildren, Micah Marshall and Chloë Wheeler; his sister Linda Wheeler; and his aunt Virgie Byrd. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reynolds Funeral Home (103 13th Ave NW, Decatur, AL 35601). Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel (103 13th Ave NW, Decatur, AL 35601). The lying in state was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Westside M. B. Church (909 4th St NW, Decatur, AL 35601). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
