We are sad to announce that on November 1, 2024, at the age of 84, Carolyn Ann Winton Bess of Decatur, Alabama, born in Somerville, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andy Winton and Thelma Hopkins Winton; her siblings, Gene Winton, Wanda Westmoreland, Linda Nichols and Arlon Winton; and her husbands, Robert Pettey and Clarence Fristoe.

She is survived by: her sons, David Pettey (LeeAnne) and Mike Pettey (Leisa); her grandchildren, Brooke Tankersley (Nick), Alex Pettey (Hannah), Mason Pettey (Delaney) and Myles Pettey (Cassidy); her great grandchildren, Olivia Tankersley and Turner Tankersley; and her siblings, Carl Winton, Willow Dean Bomar, Peggy Holland and Kenneth Winton.
