He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurel Marlow Mays and Lou Anne Poe Mays. He is survived by: his wife Anita Mays; his daughter Amanda Mays Jordan (Michael); his grandchildren, Laurel Mays and Josh Mays; his sister Jo Ann Payne (Donald); his niece Michelle Milhoan (Stewart); and his nephew Michael Payne (Alexandra).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reviving Ministries, 9385 US Hwy 31, Hope Hull, AL 36043 in his memory.
