He was predeceased by: his wife Joy Fay Akins; his sisters, Sybil Horn, Virginia Jinx, Eloise Caraccioli and Geraldine Maddeloni; and his children, Mike Akins, Lindsay Akins and Sharon Eiseman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Sarah Alderson (Dave) and Rex Akins (Ellen Dawkins); and his sons, Pat Akins (Della), Paul Akins (Shelly), John Akins (Diane) and Sid Akins (Diane). He is also survived by his 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
