He was predeceased by: his parents, Amon Whitmire and Adela Whitmire; and his siblings, Fay Stone, Marie Lyons, Joy Richey, John B. Whitmire, Paul Whitmire, Bobby Whitmire and Charles Whitmire.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Whitmire; his children, Morgan Whitmire, Kristy Johnson (Jerimiah), Alicia Yates (David), Kelly Rich, Steve Whitmire (Heather), Benjamin Whitmire (Brandy), Heath Whitmire and Weston Culpepper (Candy); his siblings, Patsy Downer (Marvin), Sue McFadden (Pat), Judy Sampley (James), Dianne Manning (Keith) and Dal Whitmire (Linda); and his grandchildren, Baylee Plunkett, Wesley Whitmire, Trace Whitmire, Dylan Gilbert, Devan Gilbert, Skyler Nix, Creed Culpepper, Hayden Carter, Payton Yates, Courtney Golden, Sydney Sharp, J. D. Sharp, Kelsey Johnson and Jared Johnson. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
