He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edgebert Brown and Mattie Lou Brown; his wife Judith Brown; his son Derwin Brown; his brothers, Lowell "Dirt Dobber" Brown and Wilber Joe Brown; and his sister-in-law Patricia Brown.
He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda J. Simmons (Ricky) of Alexander City; his granddaughter Carrie Simmons (Chris Meadows); his daughter-in-law Tara Brown; and his siblings, Kathra "Bug" Mattox (Hulan) of Alexander City and Redge Brown (Emma Jean) of Dadeville.
