He was predeceased by: his wife Florence Talley; and his sisters, Annie Lee Talley and Annette Curry. He is survived by: his daughter Regina Hughes Talley; his grandchildren, Jamar, Ketawan and Saphawni; his great grandchild Mason of Columbia, SC; his sisters, Betty Jean Dale (Jeff), Lutricia Smith (Joe), Judy Neshell Curry, Willie F. Curry (Betty), Robert S. Curry (Valerie), Isaac Curry (Carolyn) and Ron C. Curry (Stephanie); his uncle Freddie L. Irvin (Edna) of Alabama; his aunt Cora Bell Thomas of Pensacola, FL; and his children, Lydia Pettway of Youngstown, OH and Tracey Davis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
