It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lavern Black Steele of Danville, Alabama, who passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mullin Black and Alvetta Bailey; her husband Franklin Steele (Bill); and her grandson Chris Steele. She is survived by: her children, Wanda Ramer (Jim), Billy Steele, Charlotte Fischer and Jerry Steele; and her grandchildren, Sheree Harbison (Steven), Joshua Driver (Cruzana), Nicholas Driver, Dakota Driver, Jayden White, Will Harbison and Jack Harbison. She is also survived by her kids, grand children and great-grandchildren.
