She was predeceased by: her parents, James C. McCleod and Willie Mae Jackson; her husband John Thomas; her grandparents, Jolly and Fannie Jackson; and her siblings, Aretha Jackson and Garon Lee Jackson.

She is survived by: her children, Terrance Demond Jackson and Shequita Rashunda; her grandchildren, Montell Vashun Jackson, Natovia Latreka Jackson, Talatoe Tyree Roberts and Tristian Jackson; her siblings, Sharon Jackson Johnson (Victor), Dennis Allen Jackson (Loretta), Jennifer Brantley, Johnny Mack Jackson and Mildred Govan Livingston; and her daughter-in-law Melody Jackson. She is also survived by children who she treated like her own Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
