He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ted and Jewell Kelly Lay. He is survived by: his wife Elna Jo Lay; his children, Deresa Ball of Cullman and Lance Lay (Rachael) of Cullman; his siblings, Laverne Roberts of Decatur, Terry Lay (Brenda) of Hartselle, Ricky Lay (Shelia) of Cullman and Roger Lay (Lois Lay) of Cullman; his siblings-in-law, Rayford, Brenda Ashley, Carolyn Ashley, Jacky and Patricia Yeager; and his grandchildren, Katie Ball, Tyler Ball, Ashlynn Allcorn, Jon Allcorn, Chase Allcorn and Bryant Davis.
