He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Hinkle Hershberger; his children, William C. Hershberger, Jr. (Shari Fox) and Cynthia R. Gill (Andy); his grandchildren, Amberlee Hart, W. Bradley Hershberger, Kaitlyn M. Gill and Annie V. Gill; his great grandchild Alexander Hart; and his siblings, Bob Lovett (Gloria), Doris Hinkle, Sandra Hinkle, Olene DePlachett, Carolyn Hinkle and Nelda Hutchison. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
