He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Lou Wells and Sam Wells; his granddaughter Tonya Wells; his siblings, Dorthy Redmill, Lawrence Wells, Donald Wells, Charles Wells, Edward Wells and John Wells; and his parents-in-law, Ernest Lowery and Alta Lowery.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Wells; his children, Paula Bates (Mike), Sammy Wells (Anita) and Ron Wells (Melissa); and his grandchildren, April Scott, Ashley Hallmark, Rylan Wells and Trevor Wells. He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild; A host of nieces and nephews.
