He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann E. Modesitt and Swampy Modesitt; and his brother Russell Wawerski. He is survived by: his siblings, Bob (Connie), Ray Wawerski (Peggy) and Tina Wawerski; his friend J. Mike Oregeron; and his son Jerod Ceja.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Roy's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
