She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Edward and Okla Zornes Nitson; and her son Jimmy Dean Slayton. She is survived by: her husband Benjamin Slayton; and her daughters, Gayla Chapman (Glen) and Tammy Franks (Neville). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
