She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Williams and Essie McGee Williams; her husband J. P. Brown; her grandson Jeremy Sams; and her brother Alvie Williams.

She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Brown (Laura) and Linda Sams; her grandchildren, Lenisa Hutson (Stephen), Whitney Dyer (Matt) and Cole Brown (Gracie); her great grandchildren, Savana Cooke (Delton), Brody Sams and Emmi Dyer; and her great great grandchild Emery Jean Cooke.
