He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert P. Buchanan and Mary Buchanan; his wife Dorothy Buchanan; and his former wife Corene Buchanan. He is survived by: his children, Tommy Buchanan (Debbie) and Judy Curtis (Danny); his sister Margerate Jetton; his grandchildren, John Charles Curtis, Corey Buchanan and Kailey Billiot (Adam); and his great grandchildren, Carter, Blakely and Remi.
