She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Earl Smith and Velma Elizabeth Brock Smith; her husband James Michael Slaton; her siblings, Norvel Smith, Gail Smith, Daniel Smith, Clovis King (Frank), Shirley Couch (Emerson) and Vera Holllingsworth (Jim); and her brothers-in-law, Herschel Stewart and James Bozle.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Shane Slaton (Katelin), Wesley Keith Slaton (Lindsey) and Jamie Michelle Slaton (Kallen Freeman); her siblings, Earl Smith, Geneva Stewart, Linda Hutson (Wendell) and Earline Bozle; her grandchildren, Carter Gregg Sutfin, Haylie Mae Sutfin, Khloe Elizabeth Strahan, Kimber Rose Strahan, Kaleb Michael Slaton, Lucas Bryant Slaton, Lilly Jo Slaton, Dayton Grant Freeman, Wesley Keith Slaton, Jr., Gavin Michael Huey Ray and Destinee Sierra Ray; and her great grandchild Annabelle Grace Odom. She is also survived by mother to her children.
