He was predeceased by: his parents, Feltus C. Bates and Lois Thompson Bates; and his brothers, Elwin Bates and Sherall Bates. He is survived by: his wife Audrey Bates; his children, Sherwin Bates (Joan), Jason Bates (Marie) and Neeya White (Heath); his brothers, Carlton Bates and Kevin Bates; his grandchildren, Amber Wix, Blake Coots, Aerial Stanford and Heather White; his great grandchildren, Brycen Stanford, Jaxon Fulmer, Maddie Shipley, Honey Marks, Bill Marks and Little Bill Marks; and his close friends, Badger and Sofie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; friends and family.
