He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ivey and Lois Henry Holcombe; his siblings, George I Holcombe Jr., James Holcombe (Jim), Wayne Holcombe, Faye Holcombe Walker, Melba Holcombe Reid and Charlotte Holcombe Torbert-Crook; and his sons, David Holcombe and Dwight Holcombe.

He is survived by: his spouse Mavel Gwen Holcombe; his sister Jane Bates (Don); his daughter-in-law Mary Fannin Holcombe; his grandchildren, Emily McCluskey (Cody) and Christy Keeble (Sonny); and his great grandchildren, Joshua Keeble, Michael Keeble and Ethan McCluskey.
