Sr. Cassels and Margaret Burrage Cassels; his close friend Christi Smith; his siblings, Tracie Cassel-Thornton, Pamela Cassels-Patillo (Scott) and Robert Thornton; his nephews, Daniel Thornton (Kendal), Jacob Thornton, Michael Pfeffer (Kaylee) and Benjamin Pfeffer; his great-niece Karigen Thornton; and his great-nephew Korbin Thornton.
