She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Verbon Hamby and Martha Louise Heaton Hamby; her siblings, Isaac Donald Hamby, Milford Lee Hamby, Danny Wayne Hamby and Martha Gail Bates; and her grandparents, Johnny Edward Heaton, Lilly Pearl Laney-Heaton, William Anthony Hamby and Cassie Ophelia Pitts-Hamby.
She is survived by: her husband Reuben S. Bates; her sons, Kevin Tracy Bates (Jenna) and Chad Alan Bates; her brother Lamar "Bud" Hamby; and her grandchildren, Lucy, Oliver, Elliott, Andrew, Misa and Sissy.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel (461 US-278, Cullman, AL 35055). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
