She was predeceased by: her husband Leelan Blackmon; her children, Amy Shoemaker and Greg Chambers; her parents, Newton Jasper and Lula Mae Handley Powell; and her siblings, Emmitt Powell, Mary Powell, Hazel Chaney and Margie Wynn.

She is survived by: her sister Luvell Nix (Arvil); and her grandchildren, Scott Shoemaker (Amanda), Stephanie Marotz (Jody), Carly Wren (Jaiden Philyaw) and Kristin Chambers. She is also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild.
