She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Burks and Myrtle Hawkins Burks; her husband Marlin; her son Glenn Horton; her siblings, Leroy Burks, Wilma Flack and Ressie Bishop; and her daughter-in-law Sharon Garner Horton.

She is survived by: her brother Bobby Burks (Sylvia); and her granddaughter Jessica Horton Murray (Philip).

In lieu of flowers Memorial may be made to the Glenn Horton Memorial Scholarship at Wallace State Community College.
