He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edward Lee Sr. and Virginia Bell Lee; and his sister Janis Lee Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lee; his children, Joseph Edward Lee III, Raymon Scott Heiser, Jonathan Enock Heiser and Rena Jean Marie Heiser; and his sisters, Donna Lee Kendrick and Kathy Lee Taunton. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
