It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John W. Godwin (Cropwell, Alabama), born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on March 5, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Hilda Whitley Godwin; his parents, Bill Godwin and Isabelle Godwin; and his sister Jo Duncan. He is survived by: his children, John Godwin, Cathy Lee (Butch), David Godwin (Laura), Phyllis Robinson (Charlie) and Donna Godwin; and his grandchildren, Kimber Lee-Aronson (Kirk), Brandon Godwin, Sarah Andrews (London), Alicia Godwin Tibbs, Katie Joiner (Cody), David Chapman (Chantail) and Rachel Snoddy (Charles). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Red Cross Disaster Relief, Pell City United Methodist Church or Huffman United Methodist Church.
