He is survived by: his children, Kim Newton, Paige Chavis (Jerry) and Jason Matkin; his grandchildren, Tony Salmon, Christopher Barber (Sara), Victoria Brown-McCarter (Lawrence), Courtney Smith (Curtis), Caitlin Brannon (Matthew) and Colton Cherry; and his great grandchildren, Adalynn Toole, Aniyah Rivers, Makenna Smith and Elijah Barber.
