He was predeceased by: his parents, Wester Mixon and Inez Norris Mixon; his wife Olbia Brackin Mixon; his siblings, Bennie Joe, Gene, Willie and Lou Neil Garrard; and his half-siblings, Wester, Jr., Catherine Grace and Mary Frances Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Mixon (Anita), Susan Tyson (Max) and Elizabeth Rich; his siblings-in-law, Athol Brackin (Gloria) of Enterprise, AL, Melba Bradford and Gloria Brackin of Dothan, AL; his grandchildren, Blake Mixon, Erin Hayes, Charlotte Keen (Jimmy), Steven Hayes and Mary Ashley Ford (Trent); his great grandchildren, Payton, Ella Grace Keen, Grayson Hayes, Hayden and Ava Ford; and his stepgrandchildren, Melissa Tyson, Sherry Bullard, Angel Reigelspreger (Will) and Ty Tyson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Olbia Mixon Memorial Scholarship for Exemplary Christian Character at Madrid Baptist Church, 764 Decatur Road Lot C3, Cottonwood, AL, 36320.
