He was predeceased by: his parents, Buck Smith and Lois Smith; his wife Mae Smith; his sister Annice Smith; and his son Jason Wayne Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Maria Paz (Ramon) and Marcela Lopez (Juan); his sister Donna Darby; his nieces and nephews, Wendi Montgomery (Tim), Karen Hallum, Steve Bryant Darby, Rita Broughton Tammie (Donny) and Buck Smith (Renee); and his grandchildren, Juan Josue Gomez, Isai Caleb Gomez, Sherlyn Vasquez and Diego Vasquez. He is also survived by many friends and family.
