He was predeceased by: his parents, Butler Ballanger and Essie Ballanger; and his siblings, Mary Lou, Mildred Key, Bobbie Key, Faye German, Diane Stiles, Movelene "Sis" Key and Hughie Ballanger.

He is survived by: his wife Lanell Ballanger; his children, Greg Cornelius, Kenda Davis (Allen) and Sherae Brown (Dan); and his brother Raymond Ballanger (Marlene). He is also survived by five grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
