She was predeceased by: her parents, Marlin Hand and Ora Lee Hand; her husband William Raymond Murphy; her close friend Lawrence Blair; her son William Johnny Murphy; and her grandson Daniel Phillips.

She is survived by: her children, Annie Freeman, Eva Guthrie (Robert), Mary Colburn and Raymond Murphy; and her grandchildren, Crystal, Randall, Holly, Steven, Robert, Linda, Jonathan, Samantha, Dylan and Levi.
