He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Gurganus and Mary Sue Gurganus; his brother Steven Gurganus; and his grandparents, Paul, Blanche Gurganus, Lily and Arvil Foster.
He is survived by: his wife Denise Gurganus of Cordova; his children, Elizabeth Gurganus Dawkins of Oakman, Paul Gurganus of Cordova and Matthew Gurganus of Savannah, GA; and his brothers, Ricky Gurganus of Cordova and Brent Gurganus of Carbon Hill. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren.
