He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine Garrett; his parents, Vodie Garrett and Pearl Garrett; and his siblings, JC Garrett, Robert Garrett, Jeweldine Fortenberry and Roy Garrett.
He is survived by: his brother Cecil Garrett; his children, Willodean Jones and James Evans; his grandchildren, Rebecca Young (David) and Jonathan Stewart (Leslie); his great grandchildren, Orion Young, Jaina Harper (Matthew), Xander Stewart, Leona Stewart, Dracen Stewart and Athena Stewart; and his great great grandchild Jeina Harper. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
