He was predeceased by: his children, Roger Gilbert and Janet Denise Gilbert; his parents, Davis Gilbert and Lula Gilbert; his parents-in-law, Ruby, Ellis Harrison Reed and Ocho Grace; his brother Johnny Mac; and his sister-in-law Joyce Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gilbert; his sons, Mike Gilbert (Alice) and Rusty Gilbert (Stacey); his daughter-in-law Susie Gilbert; his grandchildren, Mark Gilbert (Rebekah), Jason Gilbert (Brianna), Jenny Wilson (Roger), Caleb Gilbert, Cameron Bridges, Logan Gilbert (Amie) and Lindsey Tucker (Dillion); and his great grandchildren, Anna Kate, Grace, Emma, Hannah, Randy, Craig, Nicky, Keith, Gage, Riddick, Abby, Jade, Gavin, Maverick, Maxxen, Carson, Riley, Brody, Oakley, Tru, Christian, Cayleigh, Chasidy, Caden, Emerson, Harlow and Kaimana.
