She was predeceased by: her husband Lesley C. Akins Sr.; her son Mitchell L. Akins; her granddaughter Courtney D. Sherer; her parents, Chester V. Sherer and Mary M. Sherer; and her siblings, Lola Smothers, Travis and Chester Sherer.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Lane (AC), Melinda Sivley (Paul), Melanie Ivey (Daniel), Michael Akins and Les Akins (Kayla); and her sister-in-law Regina Akins. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.
