He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Lee Pettit and Joseph Bufford Pettit; his brother Joseph Howard Pettit; his mother-in-law Clara Mae Madison; his aunt Louise Lockart Belue; his son-in-law Mark Carl Barger; and his granddaughter Kimberly Pettit.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Sue Pettit; his children, Tammy Sue Pettit, Danny Wayne Pettit and Nick Pettit; his grandchildren, Bailey Kennedy (Jon), Trey Ellis (Katie), Aryan Atkins, Allison Guthrie, Halden Pettit, Montana Barger, Rylee Barger (Nathan Chance) and Damian Pettit; his great grandchildren, Carter Black, Olivia Hall, Journie Hall, Clark Hall, Emma Atkins, Ella Atkins, Ty Ellis and Alex Ellis; and his siblings, Dave Pettit (Rita), Charlie Pettit (Donna), Will Pettit, William Pettit (Michelle), Jackie Pettit (Velda) and Brenda Pettit.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made towards the funeral expenses.
