We are sad to announce that on January 5, 2020, at the age of 98, Mellie Deal Hicks (Columbia, Alabama), born in Dothan, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Chester Deal and Mary Armetta Ingram Deal; her husband John Hansford Hicks; her children, Jessie C. "Buddy" Hicks and Donna Jo Cooper; her son-in-law Kenny Lingo; and her siblings, Ethel Adams, Irene Deal, Dorman Deal and Doran Deal.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Hicks Lingo and Jimmy Hicks (Vaudell); her son-in-law Ricky Cooper of Columbia; her sister Thelma Redmond; and her grandchildren, Andy Hicks (Amy), Buster Hicks (Darlene), Anna Lemmond (Chuck) and Tracy Shadell (Wayne).
