He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred S. Thornton, Sr. and Hazel P. Thornton; and his brother Larry G. Thornton. He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Thornton Lancaster (Toby) of Northport and Ginger Thornton Shirley (Todd) of Northport; his brothers, Fred S. Thornton, Jr. (Linda) and Danny G. Thornton (Nancy); and his grandchildren, Jackson Lancaster, Austin Lancaster, Adam Lancaster, Emma Rae Lancaster and Will Shirley.
