He was predeceased by: his parents, James Franklin and Jean Burnham; his sons, William Creighton Burnham, Robert Guy Burnham Jr. and James Franklin Burnham III; his sister Carol Jean Elwood; and his granddaughter Angela Burnham.

He is survived by: his children, Andrew Christian Burnham (Vanessa) and Jill Burnham Renfore (Jimmy); his grandchildren, ChaiBella LuDawn Burnham, Robert Thomas Burnham, Riley Madison Burnham, Tristan Renfroe and Alexis Renfroe; and his sister Sally Haddon. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
