He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edmund Ellis and Virginia Carol Jarvis (Sanford); his pet Rebel; his former wife Helen Simpson; his son James Lewis Jarvis; his wife Yvonne Mottashed; his brother Michael Jarvis; his sister-in-law Beverly Visitacion; and his cousin Steve. He was also cherished by aunts and uncles and cousins.

He succumbed to advanced Parkinson's Disease, which led to rapid dementia.
