He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lester and Regna Phillips Burns; his brother William D. "Bill" Burns; his nephew Gregory William Burns; and his sister-in-law Amy Thames.
He is survived by: his wife Regina Thames Burns; his daughter Tammy Burns Frascone (David) of Annandale, VA; his grandchildren, Quentin Malone Frascone of Annandale, VA and Amy Julianna Frascone of Sandy, UT; and his sisters-in-law, Cindy Beard (Wayne) of Mentone, AL, Tracy Minich of Stone Mountain, GA and Carol Burns of Geneva, AL.
