He is survived by: his wife Alice Faye Gatlin "Dot" Merritt (Dot) of Samson, AL; his son Jeffery "Jeff" Merritt of Freeport, FL; his close friend Sean "Val" Manley of Freeport, FL; his sister Sara Merritt Grimes of Abbeville, AL; and his close friends, CoCo and Nikki.
