He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jack" William Rice and Poppie Eloise "Lois" Rice; and his son Jimmie Derrick Rice. He is survived by: his wife Kanda Rice; his sons, John William Rice Jr. and James Eric Rice Sr.; his grandchildren, Eric Rice Jr., Allison Rice, Jackson Rice, Grant Rice, Ella Rice, Ireland Rice, Carson Rice, Stella Rice and Harper Rice; and his siblings, Richard Rice (Debra), Michael Rice (Debbie), David Rice (Julie) and Vicki Rice. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
