He was predeceased by: his father Wallace "Dude" Bannister Phillips, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Ruth Vincent Phillips; and his brothers, Rickey Phillips (Tessa) of Clinton and Danny Phillips (Diane) of Clinton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
