He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver "Ollie" Herschel and Gladys Ovada Witt Hazelrig; his wife Lucy Fortson Hazelrig; and his brothers, Revis Hazelrig, Jack Hazelrig, Virgle Hazelrig and Paul Hazelrig.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Hazelrig (Pam) and Marva McRae (John); his grandsons, Austin Hazelrig, Peyton Hazelrig, John McRae and Mason McRae; his sisters, Phyllis Grigsby (Joe), Bettie Little (Charles, Sr.), Sybil Brindley (Joe), Carolyn Butts (Bobby) and Sandra Edwards; and his brother-in-law Darril Fortson.
