He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Chitwood and Peralee Chitwood (Mary Ellen Chitwood); his siblings, Wesley Chitwood, Linda Simmons, Dora Smith and Martha Reynolds; and his grandson Matthew Chitwood.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Chitwood (Carolyn), Becky Chitwood and Vernie Chitwood Silvers; and his sister Mary Lou Allred. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
