She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Hurst and Winnie Beasley Hurst; her husband Leo Shepard; and her siblings, Alford Hurst, Fred Hurst, Doris Hutto, Susie Nell Cooper and Emma Jean Benefield.
She is survived by: her sons, Albert Joel Shepard (Terri) of Clayton and Johnny D. Shepard of Sandpoint, Idaho; and her grandchildren, Sabrina Carter, Brandon Shepard (Elizabeth), Brent Shepard (Pam), Ashley Russell, Matthew Shepard and Jennifer Rhodes (Chris). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
