He is survived by: his wife Linda Shirah Carpenter; his brothers, David Lee Carpenter (Betty) of Dothan and Eddie Carpenter of Bristol; and his nieces and nephews, Blake Carpenter, Chris Carpenter and Morgan Carpenter.
