He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James and Euva Arrington Dykes; and his children, James Robert Dykes and Cynthia Michelle Dykes. He is survived by: his son Don Olen Dykes, Jr.; his grandchildren, Josh Dykes (Jamie) of Monroeville and Kristen McNab (Derick) of Pinckard, Alabama; his sister Sandra Dykes of Midway, Alabama; and his great grandchildren, Stone Dykes, Alex Dykes, Olivia McNab, Ivy McNab and Raegan McNab.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Mount Zion Baptist Church (774 Co Rd 9, Louisville, AL 36048). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (774 Co Rd 9, Louisville, AL 36048).
