He was predeceased by: his parents, Alford Lavelle Brown and Audrey Mitchell; his wife Barbara Carolyn Holmes Brown; his son James L. Brown; his grandson T. C. Clifton III; and his brother Frank O. Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Denise Dean of Oxford and David Brown (Jennifer) of Lineville; his daughter-in-law Jan A. Brown of Lineville; his grandchildren, Amanda Brown, Tiffany Shaddix (Adam), Johnathan Dean, Tyler Ray Brown (Amber), Brook Brown and Garak Pepper; and his sister Catherine Gunter (Carol) of Munford. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
