Doug Whatley Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doug Whatley of Clay, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 25, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Doug has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald Douglas Whatley and Mary Lucile Tyson Whatley. He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Whatley; and his children, Pam McDanal (Hayden), Allison Russell (Tommy), Craig Whatley (Debbie) and Cathey Glasscox (Travis). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
